In that case, Al Mamzar Beach Park may be your best bet. Five pristine sandy beaches for Dhs5 per person or Dhs30 per vehicle.

Great Thanks for that, sounds good.

Let me be the one to break the bad news. The water is still pretty damn warm in September. Not as hot as it probably is now, but still very warm. It doesn't properly cool down till October. Just be prepared especially as September is still a hot month with 40 degree days. The advantage of a hotel beach pass is that it will include pool access and the pools will be chilled.

You're better off going to Jumeirah beach park or the open beaches as the current tends to be stronger and hence slightly cooler water. Al Mamzar is protected coves where the water is cut off from the currents, hence warmer. It is still a pretty park.

The nastiest beach in Dubai is probably the cove in front of Barasti / Westin hotel complex. Because the palm and the undeveloped offshore island closes off that cove the water is stagnant and never as nice or blue or cool as at the open beaches.

Great advice Thanks.

At present I work in Basra, Iraq (51o the other day) so I know what you mean by the heat as it is unbearable here at times and Aug has again yet to come. I transit through Dubai all time but dont get out the airport on most occasions but do find it more humid the Basra.

Hotel Pools as you say are a good option for cooler water and facilities and we will certainly have a few days in one somewhere.

Many Thanks

Delights? Erm...

As for frying it, there's a kinda clue in the name of how to cook it....

Just had some fried pork fillets in a paprika marinade and couple of fried eggs for breakfast. Very tasty.
