Default steep electricity bills in dubai?

Hi,

I've seen all sorts of ideas about what one pays for electricity and water (on a monthly basis). I've seen people saying anywhere from a couple hundred AED or so up to several hundred.

(I'm not looking to keep the place like a meat locker, but I would want to be half-way comfortable in the hot months.)

Does anyone out there have experience with these things in a one-bedroom apt. or a large studio?

Thanks for any insights you can share.

I'd say around 250 Dhs a month absolute max. during the hot months and obviously much less in winter....maybe even less in summer! It's hard to be specific with these things because no 2 people would use the ac in the same way and much depends on size of apt.

I live on my own in a large two bedroom flat. My bills are usually less than 200 dirhams a month and sometimes less than 100 dirhams, and I'm terrible for leaving stuff on all the time. So I don't reckon the bills are too much.

all the apartments i've looked at are centrally air conditioned, meaning you don't pay for it, the only elec you pay for is lights/tv/etc
