Literally have just arrived and need to go to a good supermarket which one do you suggest as want to get some basics plus good fruit and veg and a packet of twiglets for the kids!

i think you are in Abu Dhabi, so can't help unfortuntely..

All the carrefour supermarkets are generally massive, so they will be much of a muchness. Spinneys are generally a lot smaller..

spinneys has all the UK food and is great but a lot more expensive, carrefour is massive and good, Lu Lu's hypermarket is brilliant, and hyperpanda is pretty good as well.

there was supposed to be a Lu Lu's opening at Raha Beach - don't know whether it ever happened...

Last time I checked, Spinney's sold pork - Carrefour didn't......

Make a stand - BOYCOTT Carrefour.

(And Geant, for the same reason).

Lu Lu's is ace man, they have such an amazing selection of fruits i've never seen before, and their randoori chicken from the counter...mmmmm!

there's a big one next to mall of emirates, mall of emirates is massive so you could take the kids there as wlel for sweets and shops and that.

LuLu's also has the advantage that its nearly always empty!

I find the Fruit and veg at Carrefour to be very crap.
