Skywards timescales.

Re: Skywards timescales.
What you want is 'IO' (invitation only) - ever noticed the range rovers sitting outside T3? or on the tarmac to take people to the gate? They are for the IO guests...

Yes it is true, it has been around since Dec 2009. I got mine in March last year. Was given it via my AMEX repesentative, most if not all of my EK flights are booked using my AMEX. I was Gold at the time.

Skywards Platinum?

Re: Skywards timescales.
Aye, I talked to a flight attendant about it when it was introduced. It's not really another tier in Skywards since you only get it if they really love you (like BA Premier). Have heard from people on/near the inside that half a million miles and lots of F sectors are needed to get IO, unless you control a lot of money going EK's way.
Skywards Platinum?
Skywards Platinum?

Re: Skywards timescales.
No its not called Skywards Platinum. They just call it the Invitation Only Club. Well thats what was written on the Wallet containing the card and baggage tags. I think you might be right about the F sectors, as I flew about 32 F Sectors RUH DXB KUL and 12 B Sectors RUH DXB LHR.
The point about IO is you can't aim to get it - unlike silver and gold where if you fly enough, you'll qualify. They don't even mention it on the Skywards website. I don't really consider it a higher tier like platinum would be... it's more like a separate program for high value customers.
Enjoying your personal phone line to EK though, I hope
Oh, and I heard that as of a year ago there were only 200 IO members. Consider yourself well chosen...
