Probably best to download it before you leave for Ryadh and also acquire a reliable VPN too as seems to be the norm you cant download Skype easily if at all in the ME.

I have it downloaded onot my computer already - have been living in Qatar for the last 12mths and it works fine here -but I know we are talking about Saudi now!!!

VPN is a Virtual Private Network which acts almost as a tunnel through any "Big Brother" type software. Several pay to use ones available and some freebies but can't help with the names. Ask for a PM from those that use them. There was a thread all about VPN's.

It bypasses the censorship because you basically use an internet connection in another country

When you conenct to a VPN you are basically just connecting to another computer (gateway) by it's IP address. The connection between you and the remote host is due to encryption then safe from interference/spying on from the outside world - therefore Virtual Private Network.

Once the connection has been established you can then via this gateway surf (anonymously) to your heart's content.
