Default Skype Blocked in UAE???

Is anyone experiencing a lack of Skype connectivity today? I've some patchy periods with Skype in the UAE but there is nada connections today.

Is this a blip or the much fated and awaited total Skype blocking that written about before?

Default Re: Skype Blocked in UAE???

It wasn't signing in earlier today, but it's just started working again.

EDIT - we can sign in and use SkypeOut to call other telephones, but we don't seem to be able to do Skype-to-Skype calls - it shows all our contacts as offline, and we appear as offline to our contacts. Odd

You could log onto a computer in the EU using Windows XP remote assistant, or even better a Linux machine, then remotely launch Skype to connect to the person you want to talk to. You bypass the UAE sensorship and the connections are reasonable unless you go into the megabites of file transfers, which Windows XP has problems with, and Linux doesn't. An other possibility is find someone with a Intranet connection (not a Internet connection) these connections are free of sensorship.
