Silly question - semi serious!
Have lived in NZ for the past 5+ years & starting to get itchy feet. I would like to return to the UK one day but there are lots of other places to live in between. Came to Dubai back in 2003 & loved it, I'm very aware that it will have gone through many changes since then. But I fancied living there back then.
One of the things I miss about living in NZ is the lack of hamsters . I love hamsters (syrian) & no other pet will do for me. I know I'm sad but just wondered if they had them in Dubai. I can't think of any reason why not. Hope you can satisfy my curiosity.
Obviously things like a job would be quite important too but need to get the essentials sorted first

by the looks of it you won't have a problem getting a hamster here

OH might be the sticking point here, got to persuade him that this would be a good move . He's in procurement, currently works for an insurance company but has worked in telecoms, automotive, scientific equipment & as a consultant.

Plenty for sale in the pet shop within the Lulu Hypermarket complex in Al Barsha. Dhs40 each, mostly grey with dark stripes, Look a little like small chipmunks.

This, I think, ranks as one of the all-time great threads. No specific job prospects, husband not particularly interested, but if Syrian hamsters are available it's a goer. Classic

Actually I haven't discussed it with the hubby at all yet. So he may be interested once I tell him he is

And if you'd lived in NZ for 5+ years, you'd be brain dead too .
Mentioned Dubai in passing to OH yesterday. Now I leave idea to grow.
Proper & serious research now required, so I shall ask more questions in the future once I've had time to read through a few threads first.
Cheers for the info & the jokes.
