Should Ooobedubie Do It?
Read everything he's written so far in his thread if you want, but one thing stuck out for me: "no prospects at home where I’m currently going mad"

I voted no - problem probably not the money but the lack of training. I still stand by relocation within the UK as a better option.
Oh and i've just had to fork out for a massive medical bill for the maid and so am no longer in the position to cover his dental bills.

I voted no , when things go wrong they go wrong big time here and it sometimes has dire consequences .
There's too many negatives for me , seems a decent lad though !

Better to be broke and in debt in the UK, unless he is very keen on prisons and curries...

Someone posted on the other thread about risk vs reward. The risk here is huge and the reward (financial, progression, quality of life) seems tiny.

I voted No. I 1st went to Dubai in 2008 as a showroom manager for one of the largest prestige motor dealers when everyone else was leaving the country, on a far higher salary then the OP. Cost me 5k personally to set up home and my 1st salary, before realising it was a pile of shite. I had to borrow 500 quid from home to get back. I had a couple of friends there too, without them it would of been 100 x worse. With no money how can he network and meet people?

on that note, anyone know what you'd have to pay for basic medical insurance for the help?

Voted yes.
Why not. He's fresh grad, worst thing to happen is he losese a bed and sofa and has to fly home.
He's not 10 years into his career....the money is shit but who knows, he might get something better when on the ground here.
if in 3 months it's shit, just leave.

No....it's way too easy to get in the debt cycle here, and it's still happening.
I know of one British guy who had good job, a few weeks ago he was down to living on an apartment block roof until his mates had a whipround to get him out quickly before the banks caught up with him.

It's easy to get into debt if you choose to. Not if you don't.
