Short Kuwait trip - hire car or taxis?
I am spending the weekend visiting Kuwait. Is it better to hire a car or rely on taxis?
Also any tips on what to see?
Thanks!

I went for a day trip visiting clients, got a cab from the airport (without seatbelts...interesting). Got cabs around mostly, they seem to make up prices so negotiate a bit first - helps if you know where you're going.

Hire cars are fine. Drove there for 6 months. Little or no taxis back then in 2006/7. It'll give you a chance to experience driving in a proper arabic styleee.

Well I can report that driving standards in Kuwait were much better than Saudi (although you do get the odd crazy speeding dude) and the roads are quieter and much nicer.
However with hindsight it would have been better to get taxis, as parking was a bit of a hassle and it meant looping back to the hire car whenever I wanted to move on (rather than just going A -> B).
I really liked Kuwait. Very friendly people, nice beaches, food was alright. There was plenty left to see if I get time to go back again.
