Im moving to Abu Dhabi in Aug and my employer has said they will organise a temporary work visa approx 3 weeks before i get there. The shipping company tell me I need a visa in place to ensure my belongings are accepted through customs. Whats the risk my container is sent back if my visa isn't sorted out when it arrives?!

Don't worry about it. So long as your sponsor (employer) has half a brain cell, your residence visa can be processed in a few days. Just make sure you bring along all of the various attested certificates.

Thanks for that but do you think there will be a delay processing my visa because its ramadan? I arrive 4th Aug.

Im still waiting for my attested certs to come back from the Foreign Office beacuse they are verifying signatures!
