I'm moving to Dubai soon and need to ship my new Mac over, now there is nothing dodgy on it (porn etc) but I hear for DVDs and suchlike they can be confiscated if the authorities do not approve of them, is that right? Also will they check whats on my computer when it gets shipped over?

I go in & out of the county a dozen times a year with a laptop and it has never been checked.

Follow the rules & you shouldn't have a problem.

yeah, i've never had a problem with the laptop...

dvds...think they do sometimes go through them, so err on the side of caution and don't bring anything that it would be a disaster for you to lose...

Knowing this place, I'd venture to suggest that a bloke is far more likely to have his laptop etc searched.
