Shipping a car to Abu Dhabi
I will be moving to Abu Dhabi in early Jan to work, with a residency visa
I have a left hand drive 2001 Golf GTI in good condition here in the UK and it seems to me it might be worth shipping it out rather than buying locally. I have been quoted between £700 and £1,100 to ship either in a container or ro-ro, not including local port charges at Abu Dhabi.
Does anyone have any experience of doing this? My concern is the business of reregistering it in Abu Dhabi - forms, fees etc might be too much of a headache.
Many thanks
James

Ditch it....it's worth bugger all and you'll get cheaper over there...plus engine specs are different to deal with the heat and dust, well AC filters etc....won't be worth the ball ache, it's not like it's a Rolls or an Aston.
