Don't think they are going to announce it on the same day as the Emir of Kuwait.

May even wait till the three days are over.

From what I hear, they initially announced a two-day holiday for schools only, but even that was later withdrawn.

Why is there no holiday for the private sector??!!

Personally, I am saddened by the emir's death. I hope the new emir of UAQ doesn't change the policies of the emirate vis-a-vis liquor.

Ok - our PRO initially told me that the MOI was shut for three days - I just checked with him again - he now tells me that is not the case... but he is also not 100% sure!

I may have to retract my conspiracy theory above!

hmmmmmm......... interesting. Another twist in the plot.....

just watching live coverage of the funeral of the Emir of Kuwait. Rather unusual that it is being done after dark. Very odd, infact!

The poor Sheikh of UAQ and/or RAK. I wish they would just tell us.
What do u know?

Neither of them are in what you would call 'rude health'

One of them (can't remember whether it is UAQ or RAK) didn't attend Eid prayers. They were led by the Crown Prince I think.

If he is dead, it's quite possible they will wait before announcing it. I mean - you guys must remember 'Weekend at Zayed's'
