as above. No smoke without fire and ramadan is particularly auspicious.

the rumor I heard this time has come from a govt. organisation but again who knows.
What I do know is its been done before so it wouldnt surprise me and that the internal politics are so complicated and convoluted that again it wouldnt surprise me if it had taken months to sort out.

last time you got an inkling as they changed them all around on the council, did new rules etc and then announced it.

Rumour I've heard from a workmate's wife who is an ARN presenter is that he is being kept 'alive' on a ventilator until Ramadan as it's more auspicious to die then. 10 days off for public sector in AD but only 3 in Dubai.

I'd be more worried about putting this stuff on a public forum considering the privacy laws here.

as you know there are even people in this here country/city who claim that the real estate market is fully functional, the school prices are reasonable and we should be happy to pay over the top for various services (since there is no better place in the world and if we don't like it we can just go back to the awful place we came from)...

[if you are confused the above is meant as an example of some other crazy things that you get told while living the city that used to have streets paved with gold allegedly]

A couple of months ago, a local at one of the stables here was telling some expats I know to not bother coming up for the next few days as a big announcement was coming.

I sometimes wonder if they do it just to have a laugh at the expat community here.

I have it on good authority that somebody important, in some important location will die at some point in the future, but don't go spreading that around, because only I am supposed to know this highly confidential information.

Quiet as in I'm not hearing any pan pipes on the radio.
