Sharing my recent experience with KOC (Kuwait Oil Company)
Hi all,
Just want to share with you my recent experience with KOC (Kuwait Oil Company).
I have just returned from my 3 days trip to Kuwait for site interview with KOC. I must admit, I was impressed with the whole process that KOC carried out during my site interview. From airport pick up until the driver dropped me off back o the airport, the process was seamless and efficient. My 1st day, I did the pre-employment medical exam which lasted only 3 hours at KOC Hospital. Then I headed to the KOC head office at Ahmadi for HR orientation, it was more like information session rather than interview! My second day, I had the technical interview. It lasted about 1 hour, they were impressed and told me if I could join next month!
I am now waiting for my employment offer, I am excited and looking forward to moving to Kuwait. I have worked in Saudi before but I think Kuwait looks much better place to live! not sure about cost of living though it seems very high! i have been browsing kuwaiti property rental websites and shock by the truth of the renting expenses.
I read some mixed stories about employee morale and corporate climate? I need more information about KOC and Kuwait generally.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Your best bet would be to identify these people on Linked in and directly message them. Anyone who resides in this region will not on an open forum openly defame a company

Re: Sharing my recent experience with KOC (Kuwait Oil Company)
I worked in Kuwait for a while about a decade ago before moving to Dubai. Whilst I have managed to avoid Saudi since then I can imagine the difference. For me Kuwait wasn't bad. It took me while to get into the swing of things as then I was a spritely 20 something and all the other expats were a good bit older than me and with families. That said after a while you meet folk and as long as you're open to get involved with activities it's actually nowhere near as bad as most folks think..... and from what I have heard, much better than Saudi.
As for KOC, I haven't a clue.

I have never lived in Kuwait, but I have lived in Saudi. I have visited Kuwait on so many occasions over the last 20 years due to business and always found it to be much much nicer than Saudi.
Kuwaitis can occasionally come across as a bit arrogant, but once you get to know them, they turn out to be very friendly and welcoming people. Lots of my business has been with KPC which is a sister company to KOC and I always found them fair and honest to deal with.
Hope it helps and good luck.
