Default Serious beach withdrawal syndrome

God I am missing the beach.

The best bit about Dubai for me was easy access to the beach on a daily basis. I'm now two hours away from a beach and it is almost painful, especially since even if we drive to the beach I won't be able to swim in the sea because it's still too sodding cold.

Feel free to all write a holier than thou response about how a beach isn't everything and I need to focus on the close proximity of rivers, the miracle of water falling from the sky on a (too) regular basis and the ability to just nip upstairs and have a hot bath...

To make you feel better - the dust storm that has just whipped up is so bad I doubt anyone will be going to the beach this weekend.

It made my drive back from Abu Dhabi all the more fun this afternoon.

Light evenings with a glass of wine in the garden (the weather was brill 2 weeks ago!) Being able to wander to the local pub and shopping in Sainsburys etc. Going for a bike ride with your kids at the weekend and no hooting traffic!

Back in fashion apparently. Surely anything more than a landing strip is just wrong.
