Default Searching for some sun

Hey guys,

I'm new to this forum malarkey, so be gentle.
I heard about this forum, through a friend of mine who's recently gone out to work in Dubai , as a quantity surveyor.
He suggested this may be a good place to start, when prospecting for work out in the sunny land of dubai?
I'm a M&E (mechanical and electrical) manager working currently for a major contractor in the Uk. My main area of espertise is in site based construction management of M&E works, principly in water, waste water and process inductries.

Any ideas of any companies currently operating in Dubai, looking for M&E resources, with my expertise?
I've heard about a company called Halcrow, that do alot of work in this area. Anyone with any inside knowledge heard of any openings???
By the way I am a mechanical engineer by trade, with a degree in this. I've heard that having a degree is quite important out there.....

Plenty of M & E work out here for sure.

For Halcrow, you can apply through the Halcrow website. They are consultants, so it will be design work and/or inspection of installations at site.

I got my job out here through the UK Agency Beresford Blake Thomas (BBT) - They were OK for me. They specialise in Technical and Medical recruitment and have a Dubai office as well.

Also try PM'ing Scarlet Fan. Think he works for Keir here doing that kind of work.

Bristol actually at the mo, before that spent along time in London. Then I realised I was getting used to sitting in traffic on the south circular for 45 mins everyday, and thought enough's enough.

Two name options come to mind...CiderBoy...or SheepShagger...as a fellow Bristolian myself, either would be appropriate

I'd say CiderBoy is more appropriate. I'm love a pint of Scrumpy once in a while. I suppose you don't get that out there do you?? Boo hoo.........

Sheepshaggers!!. I've never heard anyone from Bristol ever been called a sheepshagger. I think thats purely reserved for the Welsh.

Although saying that I have lived in Wales as well. s**t.......
