you need to be living near to the school...yes, they mostly have waiting lists so you need to get your 5 year old sorted asap...and then the younger one will automatically get a place when he/she is ready to start school...

if you're going to be in jebel ali, then the jebel ali primary school has a good reputation, but long waiting list as far as i know...

It's a pretty self-contained community, yes. You have Ibn Battuta shopping mall, schools, hotels & leisure clubs... When they finish Dubai World Central your own airport, too....

Its great out here we really enjoy it.

But make sure you do your research before coming especially with regards to schools and accomodation, as these can be very expensive and usually offset any benefit of being the salary being tax free.

Have just gone thru the whole school places search myself...

If you are going to be out here before Sept this year, would suggest Wellington Primary School.. The parent company have a good reputation and since its relatively new (opened in March 2008) there are no waiting lists to speak of....

Put my 9yo and 7yo names down and got an offer of places within a week. Still waiting to hear from the others I tried....
