Saudi Arabia Settling-In Allowance
I have been offered & accepted a job in the KSA starting next month.
I'm a little confused over the Settling-In Allowance of 60% of the 1st month's salary.
Is this paid on arrival or after the 1st month?
Do I have to pay my compound accommodation costs upfront?
How much money should I take with me to keep me ticking over for the 1st month?
Any information would be well appreciated.

Re: Saudi Arabia Settling-In Allowance
We got our settling in $ on the first payday after arrival. We were assigned to Aramco housing so were brought directly to our house from the airport. It was furnished with a few groceries waiting for us. We took with us 2000SR and lived off that until payday. The rent for the house is deducted automatically from the pay and is really pretty cheap. We have a three bedroom town home and I think the rent is about 400 US. If you are not provided with housing as part of your Aramco package I'm not sure how it works in your location. Are you working with an Aramco relocation advisor? They should be providing you with all the details.
