Road bike community in UAE
Any (road) cyclists here? I saw a few brave cyclists on the way to Dubai Friday morning at around ~07:00ish on the main highway!!! I guess that's the only time the roads are empty. I'm beginning to think Dubai would probably be the best place to do a time trial when the weather is just about right - flat and straight roads.
What other road biking events take place?
What other bike shops are there aside from the ones on Shaykh Zayeed Road.

They don't do anything at the autodrome at the weekends.
Friday morning (I was actually there on Friday) rides are the main event.
organised by the Dubai Roadsters, they meet at 0600 (0530 in summer) at the Lime Tree Cafe.
3 distances, 80, 120 and 160Ks.
Support cars etc.
Saturday they have a 'coffee ride'..dudes that meet up and do 60K I think. Autodrome is one night during the week I think.
Wolfi's is the main bike shop in Dubai, they sell Stork and Scott. Service is excellent and they are heavily involved in all local events.
There is another alternative called Probike.ae that specialises in Planet x, Ridley and other brands. The shop is opening next week behind the Mall of Emirates.
I'm from Abu Dhabi, we have pretty much the same training and group rides,
There is a 92K cycle challenge this Friday morning in Dubai. Should be good. There not calling it a race, but that is exactly what it is.
In AD, we have 1 or 2 time trials a year, last year we had a 20K TT and then a 40K two up. Just a bit of fun to break up the training.
You a triathlete or just a roadie?

If the OP is a serious cyclist, the cycle safe is lovely and fluffy, but he needs to get in with the roadsters.
the cycling/triathlon scene here is fantastic.
