Rent apartment is put on sale just after two weeks we moved in
Hi Everyone,
We just moved in our rental apartment for less than a month and the landlord's PA told us that the landlord is considering selling the property now.
Has any of you come across such situation? What options do you have? If the new buyer also intends to rent it out, can the contract be migrated? If in the end we have to move out, do i get to claim some penalty from the landlord?
Thanks

Would have thought it depends on whether you have a specified lease or not.
If you have just signed a 12 month lease, your landlord cannot just turf you out.
If no contract and on a month to month basis, then, as long as you get a month's notice no compensation would be forthcoming.

I have known this happen a couple of times for the LL selling mid contract but everything was done by mutual agreement with the LL paying all associated costs to the tenant.
