i think my husband will get a week off regardless ... but some people who works in construction will only get 3 days off. And other profession like pilot not even get a day off (depend on there roster).

how about? how many and which day you will get it off?

In some of the larger Saudi companies (I can think of two in particular) it makes no difference, everyone disappears for at least a week anyway.

We have 3 days off, but I'd be surprised to see anyone in the office for the rest of the week (of course, they will all be 'working from home').

Eid was called on the wrong day so that New Years eve isnt the start of the next Eid and therefore dry.

I haven't got a scooby. I've heard different reports - 2 days, 3 days. We're waiting to hear for sure. At least I'm REASONABLY sure of one thing - Ramadan ends on Friday. Or Friday is the LAST day, then we can eat in cafes and restaurants during the day and not have to be sneaky with the chocolate and coke in the car.

In few years time .... Ramadhan would fall in the summer ... the day will getting longer, people have to start fasting earlier and finish later. It is as bad as it is with the driving in ME during Ramadhan now ... when Ramadhan fall in the summer i think there would be bloodbath in ME especially on the road.

I think Ramadan moves back in the calendar by about 11 days each year, so yes in a few years it will fall in August and we will all die of thrist, road accidents or suicide!
