Hi all,

I am offered a job with Qatar Airways and would like to live there with my girlfriend. We are both Dutch. However, we are not married and are considering our options.

Would my girlfriend be granted a residence visa with me if we register for civil partnership in the Netherlands without actually getting married?

Any links to info on this would be greatly appreciated!

Errm, well, I do live in Qatar, if that counts.
It is 100% against the law to live together if not married.
People do it, BUT, if you are caught, and this happens VERY easily, you will be punished and deported.
I do not believe that Qatar Airways, being a qatari company, is willing to try to get an RP (residence permit) for your girlfriend. And civil partnership is NOT accepted in Qatar. You are either married or you live in sin...

Yeah was about to say that, many bad things are mentioned about QR. It would depend if you're cabin crew or a pilot though.

I'd say, from what I have heard, you do not want to be QA cabin crew, especially if you are Western.
Pilots, also from what I have heard, seem to be doing ok.

Mind you some of the pilots and ground staff on QR at still treated like shxt.

Ground staff for sure, for pilots it might depend on nationality.
