I'm new on here but just trying to glean a bit more info without the glitzy spin bollocks you get on other sites, so please forgive me for rather gatecrashing your thread! What would a decent wage be then? I'd really appreciate the help to decie if it's worth our coming over? My husband and me have a baby and his UK employer is potentially opening an office there (in the construction industry) and we're ve been offered a move over to Qatar if it comes off. He's on £50K now (ex deductions) So any advice would be really gratefully received! Cheers.

Hello there,
Qatar is okay if you are a family, Enough to do with more happening all the time. It can be a bit limiting at times as you are trapped here unless you fly. Its not Dubai but I personally would not want to live there due to its size and travelling times. You can pretty much travel from any 2 points in Doha in 45 minutes. Housing has come down a LOT and we have a 5 bed 4.5 bathroom & 2living room house for 10k on 12 checks, so no need to borrow money for rents. Really you need to earn QR 40k per month if you have an all in package and schooling to pay for. We earn a bit more than that and live well with lots of meals out etc & have started to save some money as well. PM if you want more information on specifics, I am in the construction industry and have lived here just over 2 years. |
