I've lived here for 7 years now. I thought I had lost it during the first 3...and then I got used to it. Naa, it is not THAT bad. Bit annoying,provincial etc...but if the money is right, defo doable.
Enjoyable, well, that entirely depends on how much effort you want to make to find enjoyment, and what you expect. Qatar is a DIY country, you have to make it good for yourself.

I've lived here for 7 years now. I thought I had lost it during the first 3...and then I got used to it. Naa, it is not THAT bad. Bit annoying,provincial etc...but if the money is right, defo doable.

oh...that. Well, again that depends on what you are looking for....a lot of rig pigs with asian girls on their arms, despo leb's...and your beer bellied pub goer.
There are some places that are a little bit more posh....but do not expect Dubai standards.
The hotels here all have their bars and clubs. To meet people there, I don't know, I go with a group, so no need to make aquaintances.
I have house parties, so get invited to those by others.
To meet people in general, well, there are coffeemornings,( not my kind of thing though) bazaars and you'll probably meet people on the compound, if you decide to live on one , that is.
I have to say, it took me a while to make friends here, although I am a pretty sociable person. Others made friends immediately..as I said, depends on what you are looking for and what kind of a person you are.
