Default Potential Abu Dhabi move

Hi All

I currently work in London in PE Finance side, and earn c£130k base, c 50% bonus and 15% pension. Due to be promoted in June so will go up a bit.... however me and the misses have always wanted to move to the UAE and finally got a relevant job in a SWF, and my current job is killing me from a work life balance perspective, to the point i want to leave anyways.....

Offer is
Base + Housing = 668,000 AED
Bonus = 140,000 AED
Relocation = 70,000 AED
Child support [no kids just yet] = 46,000 per child per year

is this enough not only for short term, but longer term with kids etc which we will probably have in next 2 years? any advice? - we have a number of friends in Dubai.

thanks

Can't say much on the offer, but if work/life balance is what you are after..this is not the place.

Hi

Couple of quick questions (not in order of importance)

What is the split of the base and housing ? Is the bonus guarenteed at that amount ? Any transport allowance ? Annual flights ?

Check the quality of the medical insurance (many dont and come unstuck), does it have copay, does it cover pregnancy/child birth etc.

What are the exact terms of the child support allowance ? Only school or nursery as well ? The figure quoted does seem a bit light.

When you say is it enough ..... enough for what ? What are your expectations on housing, lifestyle, how much do you want to save, what car do you both drive (and expect in UAE). Housing costs are high and likely to get higher.

Dont get me wrong its a decent enough package but its whether its the right package for you and your expectations.
