Also, things are changing in Abu Dhabi it seems - there is even a consultancy advising on disabled access and design in new buildings:

They many have some useful information if you contact them.

you will find it difficult in high rise buildings, as they all have 5 steps or so to get into them and usually no slope etc.

I am not sure what your point is BB? If you looked at that website it refers to design, guidelines and working with architects. Plus my post refers to new buildings. I am trying to be positive here....

I am very much aware of the difficulties faced by disabled people, and I wouldn't imagine that there are many more problems facing the (physically) disabled here than in Britain (I would, however, avoid the wheelchair slope coming out of the cinema next to The Royal Meridien).

Anyway, didn't we have some initiative recently to make AD more inclusive? I remember seeing the posters along the Corniche.

my point is that a lot of the high rises already built have steps thats all, so if you were to move to one of those you will find it more difficult etc.
