Just got a parking ticket - really dubious reason - anyway it is all in Arabic (which is ok with me) but I don't have a clue how much the fine is or what I have to do - just pay it somewhere or do I need to go to the police station?

Any idea how much this is?

It's hand written and it is not showing up on the police e services site yet...

Reminds me - I need to check how many fines I've clocked up recently.

Ok - that's not too bad I guess. Certainly nothing compared to Westminster Council that's for sure....

I can pay online or through one of those ATM style police fine machines right?

Last time I got one I paid it upstairs at the police desk at co-op on al wasl road - not sure if its still there - not had one for ages - ooops best not speak to soon

You can pay online, but obviously you have to wait for the fine to appear first.

Parking fines are 150 unless you've parked dangerously...(parking on kerb or sidewalk is considered dangerous parking).
You do not need to worry about paying it until you go to sell or re-register your car....but if you don't pay within 2 weeks of receivign the fine they do add a penalty of 10dhs or maybe its 20dhs.

best not to worry aobut it and go out of your way to sort it out....just sort it out when you re-register.

oh balls, balls, BALLS. The car was on the sidewalk (pavement). It is a massive pavement outside Emarat Atrium and loads of people park on it. It can't be considered dangerous... surely.

There will be a lot of people getting fines then. That pavement is like a 4x4 showroom.

I know! It is a 25 foot wide pavement! And there is never any spaces around the area.

All of them had been ticketed by lunchtime today.... including me.

You could go to the Bur Dubai Police Station @ Interchange 4.
I've paid parking fines there without trouble.

They will make you stand there like an idiot for an hour while 100s of locals cut-in line, but you'll get the job done.

Bring lots of cash, bring all your wasta.

Auto, ignore it, when you come to re-register your car, just make sure you've got the cash to pay your fines.

It is AED150, but only if it's logged on the e-payment of the police website!
