Default Osama vs Currency

I realise there's no crystal ball out there but does anyone have any idea on whether the recent events will have any effects on the markets and more specifically if the rate to send AED's back to the UK is likely to improve from the 6.07 I've just been offered.

Any thoughts welcome. Thanks.

in my view, the news is irrelevant for the FX market.

Disagree,

This will have a huge moral boost for the US and while it will take a bit of time could well help boost the us economy if nothing else it has already strengthened Obama and will give him more sway against the republicans should he wish to take some stepsnto pay of the deficit or general pass some sensible measures in the house which until a couple ofndaysbago the republicans could have squashed. If he gets the predicted 10 point bump he may well just ignore the republicans

Crappy economic data out of the UK more than risk aversion I think.
