Default Opening bank account in Dubai -need advice

Hi, havent seen any up to date posts on bank infos in Dubai
My husband and me moved to Dubai from UK and I have my residency visa sorted while my husbant is still waiting for one ?! anyway, need to open ban account here in Dubai for easier salary payments. Now we are struggling finding out which would be the best bank to open account with . We have Advanced acount with HSBC back in UK and since we have morgage and depts to pay montly back in UK , need the best bank here that gives best transfer rates for transfer. Also maybe not apropriate for this post here but I am pregnant and would need to know if any of banks would give personal loans for delivery packages as medical here is expensive and insurance is not covering pregnancy ... so if anybody can advice please would be great help ...thanks a million in advance

Some advice in this thread from a couple of days ago. http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=806491
And there is a nice lady on here who can introduce you to a company which is better for transfers than any of the banks out here.

None of the banks offer great rates for currency transfer and most also have a fee. If you'd like details of a better service, please PM me or contact me via the link below.

All banks offer unsecured loans, but it depends on your financial circumstances and ability to service the loan. generally your salary must be paid to the bank in order to get a loan and if payments cease then there will be problems.

Some comparative info on loans here but the list is not entirely exhaustive http://www.souqalmal.com/ae-en/personal-loans
