Was there last friday, and i'm not surprised this happened - theres no such thing as H & S around here.
On the bright side, won't have to stay in next thursday for my new furniture to be delivered!!

Drove past there on the way to City Centre earlier. It's only the outside walls still standing, the whole interior is completely burnt down, including the roof.
Apparently started by a welder on the roof, I guess he must of left his blow torch on before he went home??

Hmmm... I dunno... Ibn Battuta opened a few months ago, Mall of the Emirates opening soon, Dubai Mall at some point after that... in other words, lots of extra competition from bigger and better malls...
The owners of the Oasis didn't up the insurance cover recently, did they?

I could never enter or exit that mall without thinking about how stupid the design was. If there were people in there, they would have had zero chance of escape.
Poor kittys at the Petland though.

I know that the cats and dogs are taken to their boarding kennels/cattery overnight - not sure about the other animals though

I totally agree it was an awful design safety wise, and thank god there weren't people inside, it doesn't bear thinking about
