Default Nightclub/Bars side of life in Dubai

hi i currently own a nightclub in the uk but with the present climate (smoking ban has done me no favours) being not too good, i feel like i want a change so im putting out some feelers about moving to the dubai area.
is there any possibilities i could use my knowledge in this field to get some sort of employment etc in the nightclub/bar field.

I was in the UK recently and got chatting to a guy who was in the pub industry, he said the same thing. Takings were taking a turn for the worse due to the smoking ban. It will happen here, trust me. We are all ready smoke free in all the malls it is just a matter of time before it spreads into the bars and hotels etc.

Re working in a night club here - yes I am sure there would be opportunities. However, they are not highly paid. I have friends who work in the FnB Department at Wafi City, there is a night club there called Plan B - newly opened. Might be worth sending your CV to them. www.waficity.com. The other way would be to contact all the main hotels.

Good luck

contact the jumeirah group too, because there are a number of bars and clubs under their ownership...think salaries might not be as high as you would expect though...

think the poster wants to know what it would be like to run a nightclub in dubai not work in one.
it would be a good business venture though.

and the hotels own their own now instead of renting out space to outside investors, same with the beauty salons

I know a few DJ's and bar owners so I'd be happy to pass your CV onto them.

The one type of nightclub that Dubai lacks is..an under 21's. we had an under 18's in Milton Keynes and it was a winner.. here, you have the 16-21 year olds (who don't pass for 21, and get refused entry to the clubs here) who have nothing to do and nowhere to go. Some R&B and a dance floor is all you need..believe me. My daughter can get in all the clubs (she is 19) but a lot of her mates can't..and a lot of them don't drink alcohol anyway.

there's a job for a bar manager in dubai on the monster uk site at the moment, just search for dubai... its in there somewhere

be warned though there's a lot of ads for recruitment consultants so you may have to sift through a lot... makes you wonder with so many people recruiting recruiters, what do those recruiters do when they get there? recruit more recruiters?
