Hi guys, new to the forum. I've been checking the forums as I'm coming to Dubai mid august.
I'm coming on my own, and working in one of the international bank....just going through the list, can you guys suggest/advice of anything i've missed:

rent.....will get 2 bed flat max rent 100,000AED/mnth
Dewa.....not sure how much that'll be for 2 bed appartment
phone/cable bill.....whats the cheapest provider?
food.....is 1000AED/mnth enough for one person for grocery
car.....will initailly get a lease car 3000AED (including insurance???)
going out.....1000AED/mnth
misc.......1000AED/mnth
medical is provided

your advice will be much appreciated

At the mo we pay 1000DHS+
600DHS+ is the housing fee.

5% of your rent annually, but paid monthly (I think).

Its 5% of your tenancy contract and its paid monthly.

I think it covers things like sewage, garbage collection.

Like paying council rates in some countries.

1000AED for going out?? Shit, Im going wrong somewhere... I can drop that in a weekend....

Yeah - I can easily spend 500 AED in a night when you're factoring in taxis, drinks, food etc. I'd say more like 4000 AED as a minimum.

I agree, 4000 is much more like it. I did 550 AED this Thursday and that was without food or taxi!!! I'm sure someone didn't put their hand in their pocket
