New place to eat in Abu Dhabi?
Will be working in Abu Dhabi for four days, I would like some recommendations for somewhere to eat after 8 pm.
I lived there for 12 years so I know the usual places and will be certainly visiting Teatro and The Meat Co.
Im staying at the beach rotana and tired of Traders etc,I will have a driver so distance not a problem and also it will be paid for so price not a problem either.
Also any idea what time The Hamdan centre closes at night as I need to call in and get a few bottles of perfume.

Cant be bothered signing up for groupon, explain tea at Ettihad towers, looking for somewhere nice in one of the new hotels..my favourite is sushi or steak but Im open to something different.
Yes, BB working..Ive worked for my employer since leaving AD, I personal shop all over London for him and my next stop is Camden, he is quite a hippy shiekh.

The Rodeo Grill in the Beach Rotana is way better than the Meat Co. IMHO.

I found it to be typically overpriced fare on the few occasions I've dined there - and am friends with one of their previous chefs and the former Hotel manager ('former' says a lot about the place). I am a pretty good in the kitchen though so I am more critical of restaurants and don't like to be fleeced when I eat.
Best steaks in Abu Dhabi are probably Blue Grill in the Yas Rotana at the moment.

Rodeo Grill will be a good option to try out some mouth watering dishes.

Blue Grill as Norm suggested, Marco Piere's (sp?) place in the Fairmont.
I would have recommended Chamas (Brazilian restaurant in the Intercon) a couple years ago, but sadly it has taken a massive step downhill. I hear that they are opening a branch of Chamas in Dubai, I hope it is better!
"The Forge" at the relatively new Ritz Carlton has had everything from the best to the worst. That probably doesn't help though.

Il Palazio (or something similar) at the Al Ain Palace Hotel. IMHO the best Italian in town. Lobster linguini is sublime. Even a simple pizza is excellent.

I haven't been to Chamas for a year or so - how has it gone downhill?

less selection and poor presentation at the salad bar, quality of meat seems to have dropped (along with the speed of service and feels like there is less selection there also- maybe we just weren't paying attention when they were wandering around).
A shame as it used to be one of our favorites. To be fair, we haven't been in around a year either, but we had 3 or 4 bad experiences on the trot before we stopped going.

Thanks for the replies.
Im going to try Blue Grill at Yas Rotana, I thought Chammas had gone downhill last time I was there, everything tasted the same. When they first opened the different meats were tasty and we always finished off with the 7 hour roast beef...to be honest it was a novelty that soon wore off.
Hamdan centre timings? Just want to call in quickly and buy some ciggies and a few bottles of perfume.
BTW..wouldnt dare venture into the Ally pally alone at night, its ok for you lads but for women you either get asked how much? Or have all the tarts shooting dagger at you because they think your the competition.

Ah, hadn't realised your gender...It's not actually in the hotel, it has a separate door outside on the front left of the building. The only risk of mingling might be if you waited outside the hotel entrance for a taxi. I've taken my family there with no qualms.
