we just started a recruitment company in Dubai some months ago. Taxfree enviroment etc. is all fine but the costs for international calls, as we have a lot of them, have become a real killer.
We need urgently a solution that works to reduce our cost.
Is there anything available that works comfortably, reliably and easily to use?
Something like a SIP phone (which to my disappointment doesnt work here).

not really... skypeIN and a VPN. I've not paid for calls for months.

Or, maybe conference facilities such as Arkdain - although I think they charge us a fortune.

You would never know that I'm using skype at home.

I have wireless handsets dotted around the house that connect to a hub, the hub is plugged into a server that runs skype. The server is on all the time and sits out of way under the telly (it also acts as my TV streamer)

to make a call I use the handsets only, never have to touch the PC. The same handsets ring if my landline is called.

I know the perfect solution for you.

You can use an Analog Telephone Adaptor (ATA) which enables you to use a standard telephone over the internet; no computer required.

A nice side benefit is that you can take this adaptor when you travel and continue to save on telephine calls wherever you are.

I'm using it nad it works great!

The adaptor costs AED 950; you own it, there are no other service related fees.

You simply pay for your calls at extremely low rates (Typically 90% savings when compared to the standard call rates).

Yes it does work in KSA, all you need is a decent broadband internet connection. There people who take this adaptor with them whenever they travel on business.

I have not heard of any regional restrictions regarding this adaptor.
