Nationality for my Twins
Hello Everyone,
If anyone has an answer for my question, please:
My parents have been naturalised in 1991 under section 6 (1)
I have been naturalised on the same date but under section 3 (1) since I was under 16.
I'm now married to a Syrian and I live and work in Damascus now.
I have twin girls who are now 1 yr and an half. They were born in Damascus.
Can they get the British nationality or not?
Thanks alot

Probably not, if it happened it'd be under the same section as you:

This is the kind of question I wouldn't rely on an internet board to answer, though.

Re: Nationality for my Twins
If you got UK citizenship otherwise than by decent, which you have, you could potentially pass it on to your kids who are born outside of the UK.
Though there might be some residence requirement in the UK for a number of years in that situation first, I don't know.

Re: Nationality for my Twins
I always thought it was dependant on the Father's nationality. So if a baby is born abroad and the Father is nationality X and the mother is a Brit then the baby can take the father's nationality or the country of birth (dependant on the rules of the Country of birth of course!)

Ask the question on this forum:

There are some very knowledgeable advisers there.
