So, my mate who I often quote on here as knowing which bars to frequent for all occasions around the gulf has bought a ring but needs advice.....

2 different faiths 1 Atheist, 1 the M word (But non practicing) so a civil ceremony and a Muslim one to appease the good lady's folks...........

Forgetting about the latter as that will sort itself out - Where is a good place anywhere in the world for a simple non complicated ceremony with minimal paperwork (ie No birth certificates attested etc)

The list is Las Vegas so far as the paperwork is 0, Just picture id

I shall pass your worldly advice on...............

Apparently the minimum discount on Jewellery here is 35% but if you push hard and buy there and then 50% can be achieved. So why have the stupidly high prices in the 1st place

For the sake of simlicity later when you need the paperwork to get divorced, do it in a place whre you may be living. AVOID places like Bali, the Seychelles or Wogga Wogga ! (Unless you are going to go and live there.)

Meh, For an hour or 2 - Paperwork exercise. The civil paper is the important one especially as you are not obliged to tell anyone your religion.

I know a number of Brit men who have converted to marry. I don't push them too hard on their 'identity'. I don't think they make the fact publicly known.

Bali is out in my circles. GF's family/friends say everyone they know who married there ended up divorced. They're in the middle of creating a modern urban myth about the place.
