Moving to Qatar in two weeks
Hi All,
I am new to this forum, so first of all hello. Secondly today i just finalised my move to Qatar and I am, looking for some hints and tips on various things.
I am moving as a single guy, my work will provide me accomodation for the first month until i find somewhere to rent.
My work is situated in the financial area and will be looking to rent somewhere not to far away from there, if anyone can provide names of areas to look etc? looking to rent an apartment, ideally furnished.
Also, what is the best way to meet fellow expats out there?
Thanks

Have a wee look through the forum as this has been covered a lot in the last month

Hi Frazer - i'm assuming by financial area you mean westbay? A one bed apartment in west bay will cost anthing from 11000 to 16000 a month.
Most of the apartments in this area are furnished and there is a mix of fully serviced to private rentals available. Its an expensive place to live, however if you allow for the lack of hassle of travelling far to work and also being very close to all the usual hangouts I think its worth it.
I met most of my friends through work, this forum and through friends of friends. I also turned up last year year halfway through Ramadan, not an ideal time to meet people as all the bars are closed.
