Hi all,

Moving to Dubai in 2 weeks time, got a couple of qu's.

1) I've been advised that DVD and CDs etc when imported get sent off for inspection etc. And when you get them back its not uncommon for a number to be missing. So what i'm planning to do is put all the discs in organisers with sleeves inside and just bring them in with me through hand and hold luggage. After disembarking the flight i remember going through transit in DXB you have to queue for security checks but when your final destination is Dubai do you still go through security before you make your way out. If they discovered them I got no prob in them being sent off as there's no dodgy movies I just dont want my movies going walkies. Before anyone asks NO there's no porn amongst movies im bringing in with me.

2) Would my landline cordless phone I use in the UK work in Dubai?

I took about 300 DVDs with me via seafreight, and none were taken out (albeit I haven't opened every DVD case). I had plenty stuff with tits and bums in the movie (no porn), not a problem.

not sure on the phone thing.

If you're worried - put them in the folders as you mentioned. I did this with a few hundred and it was fine - I also shipped out several hundred via sea freight and they were not touched either though...

I'm 99% sure your phone will work - DECT and normal small phone connector...
