hello All i have been offered a position with the package below


Base Salary AED 7,800
Housing/Living Allowance AED 5,200
Total Salary * AED 13,000 per month

Can you help me out and advise if thats a good offer and advise me abit.. many thanks in advance

That's a low salary for a Western expat. You'll have to share an apartment and really won't have much left for savings.

What kind of 'finance'?

I'm guessing that's for an unqualified IFA. You won't party hard on the base salary. UAE can be cheap up to a point, but you may not be able to keep up with potential friends because of the cost. I could blow your base salary on a week's hard partying, and I don't shove stuff up my nose or indulge Russian hookers.

Edit to say I spent 4 1/2 years in UAE. It was fun, but it wouldn't be on a shoestring.

Meow its GL Finance and I have got qualification but not fully qualified.

I am not sure now after all these comments. i have whole weekend to think about. :(

Have a close look at the cost-of-living spreadsheet and threads. It'll be tight, for sure.

Lived in uae with the fam and could not stand it, most people are posers tryin to please everyone else and everything is artificial, things are just getting more and more pricey too.

if you dont have a job yet in the uk then do it and if your single.Think of it as an adventure/experince,At the same time your getting paid,and if you dont like it leave.

i do have a job in UK mrlowry.. but i dont think its ideal to move if i am going to struggle...
