Moving to Doha, time scales for family RP/school entry
Could anyone please advise me!? My husband has been offered a job in Doha and all being well we should be moving in April. My son is 4 and should be going into year 1 in September. After doing a bit of investigating it seems that my husband will need his RP first then after 6 months, he will need to provide the necessary docs including 6 months bank statements, so that we can get a family RP which would take an additional 6 weeks. So only at that point my son would be able to start school, potentially October or November this year?? Is the 6 month bank statement requirement a definite? Is there any way we would be able to get him back into school for September, he will already miss the rest of his reception year!

Rules change daily in Qatar and it's a nightmare for people trying to get their kids settled and get the right info and documents.
Basically it's a mess but so is Qatar.

Thanks so much for the advice! Seems like there are no set rules and we just have to go with it and hope for the best! So frustrating though if it were anything else it wouldn't be so bad. It seems bizarre to expect a child to potentially go 6 months plus out of school! It's not good at all.

A lot of things don't make any sense in Qatar and are designed that way . It can be extremely difficult for the first 6 months as you'll be dealing with numpties who couldn't run a bath making very important decisions that effect you on a pretty important scale .
Good luck !
