Hello, Neil and Maria Here.
We are looking into moving to Abu Dhabi depending on successfully getting a Job in a School for hubby, me anything I can get. We have two dogs that we will be bringing with us. So I have questions about the best transportation to use. And the use of mobile and keeping in touch with family and grandchildren.
To be honest, any information you can advise about checking and doing before the move would be advantageous.

There's precious little public transport so unless you end up living within walking distance of work (which almost nobody does) then you will be in a car of some kind (personal, or taxi). There are some public bus routes, but they're pretty slow and not comprehensive so again, unless you live and work on the route, not very useful (particularly in summer when it's super hot to wait for a bus and super hot to walk from the bus to / from home or work). A few people who live on Reem and work on al Maryah use e-scooters, but that's pretty much it. A car rental will be 2000+ / month - best to do that for a few months before committing to buying, in case you decide not to stay here long-term. Not sure what your question about mobiles is - we have mobiles here too and you can call all round the world with them....
