Default Metro Testing

Has anybody else checked out the practice runs currently being made near Jebel Ali? They have some good photos on gulfnews.com from which you will see that drivers are being deployed. To be honest, the prospect of an unmanned train in this country worries me...incidentally, is it hot enough for you newbies, yet? 45degC this morning

How can an unmanned train be any worse than the tossers driving on SZR 24 hours a day?

Driverless train technolocy works fine on the DLR & other train systems throughout the world.... why would it not work here?

But surely they would have only selected top quality engine drivers from the USA rather than the tossers you have in mind for such a prestigious role

Simply because this is Dubai and very little works here for longer than a few months before it has to be thrown away The occasional sandstorm may not help matters.

Surprised , tho, that the article gives a top speed of 40kph???? A top athlete can run faster than that. Well, for a few seconds, anyway...

The new stock on the London Underground can get up to 100kph????

yes but have you seen how flat the track is...ie any faster and they would jump. There are some pretty severe changes of angle most of which appear random.
