Default Medical Care - Physical special needs

Hi there - some advice please? We are relocating to AD next year, was this year but my son has had to have major surgery on his bladder. We have been told that my hubsand's medical insurance will cover my son, but that the bladder issues will be excluded. As Expats can we go to the paediatric urology departments at the government hospitals? how does it work/ do we pay separately?

Think his school is sorted, so 'just' the medical bit to sort now Thanks all (have posted this on another forum also, just in case you see a duplicate, i am just desperate to get some advice, thanks all)

Don't be surprised if they don't exist...

I would give the Sh. Khalifa hospital in AD a call. It's the best hopsital in the city (in my view) and most likely to offer some help. Take your credit card with you.

Honestly, I have no idea... but this place is very good for primary routine care but anything specialist and they tend to get out of their depth. Also try the American Hospital in Dubai.

I also have no real knowledge to offer except to say that; when the ruling family go overseas for medical care; it gives some indication of their confidence in local facilities.

This extends to the majority of the local (and expat) population. When the Indian expats go home for better medical care that tells you something...
