Long Time No See....And A Question About Doha
Hello folks,
Not been on here for quite some time, been rather busy with work and wot not.
Anyway, been invited for an interview in Doha, but if I get the job, would have to pay for my own accommodation ( all the other benefits are part of the package except accommodation )
What is the going rate for a decent 2 bed apartment, or three bed villa on a decent compound? Would I be able to get anything for 10,000 QR per month? ( Tred a quick search but to no avail )
And any suggestions / views / experiences of life in Doha ( currently in Jeddah, KSA )
TIA.

From all we heard and know rents are still high in Qatar, compared to the other Gulf states, but for 10kQR you should get a nice 2 bedroom apartment. Just check the gulf-times.com in the weekend.
After being in Saudi Qatar should feel like the country of freedom. Plenty to do if you like racing around in the desert with a quad or dirt bike or 4x4. There is quite a big biker community, water sports, cinemas, very nice golf club etc. Best of all, Qatar is not a dry country, you get a liquor-license and can shop than at the liquor store.

Re: Long Time No See....And A Question About Doha
Rent prices in Doha have dropped dramatically, for 10,000 QR per month you can now get a reasonable 2/3 bed villa on a compound.
3 Bedroom apt on a really nice compound will also be about 10k.
Pint of Stella from QR 30 to 50 so not too bad.
Every one seems to knock Doha but there are much worse places to stay and live. Theres enough to do, just and its very good for the children if you have any.
