Default Living in Saudi late 70's early 1980s

Hi Everyone

I am doing some research on british school available in the late 1970's early 1980s predominately in the Jeddah region. Does anyone know if there many schools at this time if they were all day schools or if boarding schools would be also available and lastly what age were pupils taught until.

Any feedback or help on this matter would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
FWhite.

I lived in Jeddah and subsequently Tabuk in the 1970s

I never heard of any boarding facilities within the Kingdom for foreign children. Parents looking for that would send children to boarding facilities in UK or elsewhere.

many thanks for your reply. Do you know at what age children were taught too? were they educated until 18 or would they have to have returned to the UK for that?

British-Dutch School was the first and they took only children of primary age. I think the American School came later and was established by the airline (ie SAA with the help of TWA) and the US Embassy. Cannot remember year. Late 1970s
