Lebanese Restaurant?

Re: Lebanese Restaurant?
What can I say - it's pretty good Much better than the dives masquerading as chippies you'll find on SZR.
It's only a small place in the food court, but well worth a trip; it's British-owned and run. The only downside really is that the chips aren't your proper British chip-shop chips, but then I've never found those *anywhere* in Dubai. They probably come the closest, though.
You can get baked beans, mushy peas, bread and butter as side orders etc.

Christ, I'd hope not. Gravy with fish'n'chips?
If they're northerners running it, though, I guess they might offer such an abomination

Eaten there 5-6 times but have never seen anyone remotely British working there, only Filipinos...incidentally guys, why on earth recommend extortionately priced 4-5* hotel restaurants when somebody merely wants a good Lebanese...there are plenty of modestly priced, local ones around in Satwa and other similar places...we are not all zillionaires.

Isn't there an Automatic Restaurant in Jumeriah Plaza/Beach Plaza? (can't remember the name but on the Beach Road) used to go there when we lived in JA - lovely fish dishes
Also like Beirut Restaurant
We have La/Le Auberge on Rolla Road, do great kebabs/shish tawook for takeaway, comes with loads of free homous/salad and garlic sauce - a quick start to the BBQ
Is the Fish and Chip place in Bin Sougat the same as the one in Ibn? London Fish and Chips? not to keen on the adult meals but the fish fingers are lovely, very firm and tasty (London Fish and Chips that is)

If you want fantastic fattoush or shish taouk/shawarma sandwiches, then try Al Mallah on Al Diyafa (actually the best shish taouk I ever had was at the burj but it was at a party so I don't know if there is a restaurant there, nor do I care to find out). Automatic also does great fattoush, for great mannoushe, try a saj at Labneh Wa Zatar. For fantastic samboussek, baba gannoush and cheese rolls (and cauliflower asndwiches) try Sidra on Diyafa :-). I tried Kebbe Neyah once at Al Nafoorah and it was really nice (they are also licensed and sell decent Lebanese beer and wine from Bekah. For great all round ambience try Blue Barjeel on the creek (bur dubai side) or Al Khaimah (ooo original) in Dubai Marine Beach Resort. For great shisha try Momo at Harvey Nichols or great kebbe and shisha the leb restaurant in the Marina. Al Hallab is a good all round place but worth it for the sweets...
