Hi,
Going back out to Oman in a few days and having bought a laptop in the summer here in the UK, I wondered if anyone had any experience of taking one into Oman. Do they hassle you about duty etc? I've downloaded a load of films/documentaries off the net to watch, seeing as apart from the sport, Showtime seems to be getting pretty crap these days -will they have issues with this?
Cheers

Seriously doubt they hassle you for it, bro....
Scuff it with your booties and pour some curry sauce on it so it don't look brand spanking if you worried,,,,,

Duties no worries, contents could be an issue.
To solve this, zip the files with a password, and save them as a hidden file in you windows/sytem folder.

Enjoy Oman, where you going?

Lol, always the same, everyone assumes films = porn. Just regular films and a few TV series/documentaries. Like I said, Showtime was getting crap for the last few months before I left and I thought I might as well make good use of the decent broadband connection while I've been back in the UK.

I've been to Oman for business trips several times, with laptop in my briefcase. Only once I was asked to switch it on, and when they saw the password screen I was told it was okay. No problems for me, actually applies for the complete ME as per my experiences.
