I am interviewing with a Kuwaiti-based company for a managerial role in IT/Cybersecurity, and they have asked for my salary expectations. I have over 20 years of experience in the field.

Since I have never worked in the region, I am not very familiar with the local salary structures. I would greatly appreciate any advice on what would be an appropriate salary to request. My primary motivation is to secure a financial boost to help pay off my mortgage back home.

Additionally, my children are currently in Years 11, 9, and 5, and the recruiter mentioned that the company offers a family package, including insurance, flights, and other benefits.

Hard for anyone to give specific advice about what your salary should be as your job description is quite vague.

You first need to do some sums yourself so that you have some idea of what you need to live as a family either from salary or contracted allowances and then add on your expectations for savings etc (as that is your stated aim). Also draw a comparison with your current salary and lifestyle and decide what sort of uplift you want for the move.

How much are the schools going to cost for 3 kids ? how much is housing for the type of home you would be happy with ? etc etc. You really need to be discussing salary and allowances once you have some idea what your living costs are going to be.
