Hi
I am in the process of relocating to Jeddah for work with my husband which is why we are seeking a suitable residence and our preference would be to stay in a compound. We are with the two of us and don't have children (yet).
My husband works at sea which means he is 2 months on / 2 months off work. Consequently, I will be 6 months a year by myself in Jeddah and 6 months together.
Are there areas or compounds that are more suited with a mix of young professionals and families as opposed to just family environments? (We have heard good feedback from some people who reside in Al Basateen Village, but I am not sure if this is more a family oriented place).
I appreciate your input!

There's a FB group called British expats jeddah. It's not the best group but you could also ask there. Having been to Jeddah and Riyadh I would say go look at the compounds first to see if it is what you're looking for. The Jeddah compounds I have seen are not the same as Riyadh ones.
